The Historic Haile Homestead is unique in the Nation for its "Talking Walls." For a reason lost to time, the Haile family wrote on the walls of their home - over 12,500 words in almost every room and closet! Come visit us this weekend and see this gem of history, frozen in time - let the walls speak to you of joys and sorrows of more than a century ago.
Visitors must wear face coverings (except for those with health issues). Docents will be wearing masks. In accordance with CDC guidance, high touch areas will be sanitized between tours, and Social Distancing practiced. Size of tours may be limited.
Open from 12 PM to 4 PM. Tours will be conducted at 12:15, 1:15, 2:15 and the last tour begins at 3:15 PM. Masks are required, for visitors and docents. Tours will be limited to no more than 10 people. We're not yet ready to return to a normal schedule but we will likely expand our tour offerings in November, depending on the number of docents available. Come see the new videos in the Allen & Ethel Graham Visitors Center: "Beginnings" and "Enslavement to Freedom."
