We aim for progress–not perfection. Our goal is to bring out the scholar present in each student.

What sets us apart is our personalized approach—rather than following a fixed curriculum, we tailor each tutoring plan to fit the individual needs of every child. We go beyond just helping with homework or preparing for tests; our focus is on strengthening foundational skills and bridging learning gaps to foster lasting academic growth.

How Does Tutoring Work?

We offer personalized, one-on-one tutoring sessions designed to meet each student’s unique needs. To ensure a tailored approach, we begin with a comprehensive assessment to identify both strengths and areas that need extra support. Additionally, we collaborate with parents and teachers to gain valuable insights into the student’s learning style and challenges. This holistic, multidisciplinary approach allows us to create a targeted plan that integrates perspectives from three key sources—the teacher, the parent, and the tutor—ensuring the most effective support for the student’s academic success.

About the Founder

Stephanie graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Neurobiological Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. She discovered her passion for tutoring while working with K-12 students throughout her time at UF. Determined to continue making a difference beyond her college years, she combined her expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to launch STEPs for Success.

Stephanie’s Tutoring and Enrichment Program for Success (STEPs for Success) was founded in January 2020 with a mission to empower students through personalized learning!

Since its inception, the program has grown beyond what Stephanie could have achieved alone, allowing her to recruit and train a dedicated team of tutors who are making a lasting impact on Florida’s students and families.

FAQs

How much is tutoring?

Please give us a call at 352-559-2173 or send an email to stepsforsuccess352@gmail.com to inquire about pricing. Pricing includes an assessment, all tutoring materials, and a parent-teacher-tutor conference once a semester. Additionally, the first session is 50% off.

How do I pay for sessions?

We accept payment through Zelle, PayPal, Apple Pay, Venmo, Debit/Credit Card, and ACH Bank Transfer.

Please note: Zelle has no additional service fees. ACH has a 1% service fee. All other options have a 2.99% service fee.

Where does tutoring take place?

We offer both in-person and online tutoring–whichever you prefer. For in-person sessions, the tutor and student can meet at a library that is convenient for the family or the student’s school.

We do not provide in-home tutoring.

Are any scholarships available?

Yes, we accept the Step Up for Students Scholarship. To apply, please click here to visit their website. If you have any other scholarships, please contact us for more information.

What are the qualifications of the tutors?

Elementary tutors have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Elementary Education or are part of the Elementary Education program at UF/UCF.

Middle/High School tutors have or are actively pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. They also have a minimum of 1 year tutoring experience.

What are the hours?

Tutoring will take place after school. You let us know what days/times work for you, and we will find a tutor that fits your child’s schedule.
