Children 18 years old and younger can receive free breakfast and lunch during the summer months through the Alachua County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services Department.
The Summer Meal Program, funded by the federal government, is open to any child regardless of family income. The meals are served at several local schools Children do not have to be enrolled at those schools or in the free and reduced price lunch program to take advantage of the program.
It’s easy to take advantage of the free meals. Families can take their child to the site that’s most convenient for them and provide their child’s name, age and a phone number on the first day. Then they just show up during the serving times so their child can enjoy a nutritious meal.
The dates and times that meals will be served will vary from site to site. Some times and locations may change, but the site will be updated if there are any changes.
New this year: Our Summer Food Truck will be visiting Majestic Oaks & Hidden Oaks complexes & SWAG Family Resource Center.
