There are several fun and family-friendly 4th of July events just around the corner in the Gainesville area! From small-town parades to fireworks displays, you won't want to miss the Independence Day fun!

4th of July Celebrations

Williston Independence Day Celebration (July 1) – The event kicks off with a small-town parade at 5 pm, followed by a night of family entertainment with free rides for the kids, games and vendors. The night ends with a fireworks display at dusk.Cost: $2/car.

UF Fanfare and Fireworks (July 3) – This annual Independence Day Celebration features local and regional bands, along with an amazing fireworks display. The festivities begin at 7 pm at the 'bandshell' on the UF campus.

Alachua 4th of July Celebration (July 4) – Festivities for all ages will run from 3 pm until 10 pm with the fireworks show at 9:30 pm. Activities for the kids include a petting zoo, bounce houses and water slides! Plus the kids can play in the sprinkler park.

Keystone Heights "Our Country Days" (July 4) – The entire day is full of fun in Keystone Heights, from live music and vendors to a watermelon eating contest and marathon. To see a full schedule of events, visit the website!

Lake Butler 4th of July Celebration (July 4) – Before the fireworks show at dusk, families can enjoy a morning fishing tournament, a family fun run, a car show and more!

Micanopy July 4th Celebration (July 4) – The Independence Day celebration kicks off at 11 am with a parade, followed by music, food and fun from 5:30 pm until the fireworks display at dusk.

Waldo Independence Day Celebration (July 4) – Celebrate the 4th by attending the opening of the Waldo Historical Railroad Museum. You'll be able to see historic Waldo railroad memorabilia and learn how the caboose was used in the past. There will also be live entertainment and food!

4th of July Mini Photo Sessions

Other fun events the week of July 4th

Newberry Library CandyLand Live (July 5) – Head to Newberry Library to from 2-4 pm to plat a life-size version of Candyland! The event is free and open to the community!

Garden Brothers Circus (July 5) – The Garden Brothers Circus is stopping in Newberry for one day only! There will be two show times, 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm!

ACSO Annual Cops vs Students Challenge (July 5-7) – The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is holding its 2nd Annual "Cops vs Students" Challenge presented by the School Resources Deputies! ALL Alachua County high school students are invited to come on out for fun competitions and activities, like a softball home run derby competition, a slam dunk competition, a volleyball spike competition and more

Fun4GatorKids Playgroup at the Fire Station (July 7) – Everyone is invited to the Fun4GatorKids Playgroup at the Fire Station at 3 pm! We will tour the station, learn about and meet firefighters and see the firetruck up close!

Cade Museum's 'Magnificent Magnifier' Workshop (July 8) - In this exciting one-day workshop, students ages 9 and older will learn about the awesome science behind light up shoes, light bulbs, Tesla coils and static sticks!

UF Health Pediatrics Tioga Open House/Tioga Outdoor Movie (July 8) - UF Health Pediatrics is rolling out the red carpet for Movie Night at Tioga Town Center and will have popcorn and photo opportunities with Albert! The UF Pediatrics Open House kicks off at 6 pm, followed by the outdoor movie (Smurfs 2) at 7:30 pm.

Beauty and the Beast Live (July 8) – The campers at Musical Me Theater will present Beauty and the Beast live on stage at 7 pm! Tickets are $15 for reserved seating!
